Upon investigation, it was revealed that this Shenzhen-based company had only been operating for a short time, with its factory located in Panyu, Guangdong. Their brochure included contact information such as phone and fax numbers, further indicating their active presence in the market.
With winter approaching, many major brands are pushing their 2009 autumn and winter collections, making this case of infringement particularly damaging to Shulang’s brand image and sales. Wayne Zhang, a legal director, emphasized that fashion design is a form of intellectual property and that the actions of the Shenzhen company constitute a serious violation. He suggested that legal channels should be used to hold the infringing party accountable and protect the legitimate rights of the original brand.
